What to expect

Varadero fills almost the whole Hicacos Peninsula, so even in high season there is space to spread out. The seabed slopes gently, which makes long wades and easy swims the norm.

Getting there

Juan Gualberto Gómez Airport is around 30 minutes away; Havana is a two-hour drive.

Good to know

The quieter eastern end near the Josone park and the nature reserve feels far calmer than the hotel strip.
